A message from the series “Witness to the Word.” A Gainesville native, Kim has been a member of Gainesville First UMC for 34 years. She and her husband, Mark have three adult children, Leigh Ann, Alden, and Buddy. Kim’s children are fifth-generation members of Gainesville First!
At her local church, Kim has served on fundraising boards, SPR, Finance, Nominations, Outreach, Evangelism committees, and Church Council. For the past four years, she has served on the District Superintendency committee. Kim has served as District Lay Leader for the North East District, the Conference Nominations Committee, and the Conference Board of Laity.
As Conference Lay Leader, Kim is committed to serving the Lord and the Laity of the North Georgia Conference. She shared during the luncheon about the joy of serving as one of the organizers of the Laity Re-Weaving Gatherings that took place in March across our Annual Conference. The gatherings were a time to pull together, tighten bonds, and serve. Host churches were models of hospitality and connection. Week after week, laity experienced love, joy, and fellowship.
