Help Bring Christmas Cheer to Children in Our Community
Kingswood Church is partnering with two different ministry groups to help spread Christmas hope and joy this year. There are two ways you can help:
- Sponsor an entire family through Community Assistance Center’s Hope for the Holidays program. Kingswood will help with 5 families, and anyone who would like to sponsor their own family may do so. Visit www.ourcac.org/hopefortheholidays to select a family to sponsor, purchase gifts, and and deliver them directly to CAC by Wednesday, November 27, or make a donation to Kingswood Church earmarked for CAC Hope for the Holidays. CAC is located in nearby Sandy Springs.
- Purchase individual gifts from the Cross-Cultural Ministries Amazon wish list for delivery directly to CCM by Wednesday, December 11. Kingswood Church has supported this ministry during summer school supply drives and Christmas gift giving. As in years past, all CCM students will receive gifts at festive Christmas parties during the week of December 16. These parties are a highlight of the year for their students and families, who are often facing financial challenges. They’ll have a devotion, yummy snacks, fun Christian crafts, cookie decorating, and even a chance for the kids to select and wrap gifts for their moms and dads.
We hope you will generously support one or both of these ministries to spread the joy of Christ to those in our community who need it more than ever this year!
Christmas Card Collection
The Family and Children Committee will collect homemade Christmas Cards to distribute to community members in nursing homes and assisted living complexes. This is a fun activity to do at home, or with friends! Jessica Spencer will collect the cards on Sundays Dec 1-15. Please reach out with any questions to Jessica at jspencer@kingswood.church.
Family Christmas Party, Dec 1, 2-3:30pm
Santa will be joining us in the gym, along with a great holiday backdrop for taking photos. We will also have crafts, cookie decorating, games, and a spot for writing and mailing letters to the North Pole!
Caroling Sunday, Dec 8, 4-7pm
Caroling is a Kingswood family tradition! Join us as we travel around Dunwoody sharing Christmas joy with individuals who need some cheer. We will meet in the CLC (Room 213) at 4pm, enjoy a light supper, and then head out in groups to sing. All ages are welcome, but children (4th grade and younger) should have an adult companion.
Youth Christmas Party, Dec 8, 7-8pm
The youth will meet in the youth cafe from 7-8pm to have a white elephant gift exchange and enjoy some holiday desserts and fellowship. Please send your student along with a gift ($15 and under) to use in the exchange. Be sure to invite a friend!
Tweens Christmas Celebration, Dec 15, 3:30-5pm
Tweens (5th & 6th graders) will meet in the gym for cupcake decorating, games, and a gift exchange!
Christmas Dinner Celebration, Dec 18, 5:45pm
Reservation are required, but all are invited to come and join in the festivities as we celebrate with a Christmas meal as family and friends.
