Wake up. Wake up! It is 2021, and 2021 is going to be different from 2020. I promise. Yes, I know in many ways it will start off the way 2020 ended, but in the most important ways it will be different. It will different because of the decision you are about to make. Many of us in 2020 put ourselves in survival mode. We tried to survive on our own efforts. I am sad to admit it, but I did this for a period too. I prayed, but I did not always read my Bible. These two means of grace go together and are powerful when done in tandem.
Surveys conclude that 40% of professing Christians read their Bible one time or less per week. I know some of you read the entire Bible back in 2017, and have not read it since. If there has ever been a time when we all should be committed to daily Bible reading and prayer, this is the time. If you have never read the Bible cover to cover, or if you need to get back in the habit of daily Bible reading and daily prayer, then 2021 is the year to start. You certainly will not regret it.
No strings! No questions! Just you and the Holy Spirit.
How do I begin?
- Print out the reading plan and start reading each day
- Print the church’s prayer list each week. Create your own prayer list to go with it. Then start praying.
- Now isn’t that easy.
