Meet Rev. Thomas Hall

Rev. Thomas Hall has served in full-time pastoral ministry since June 2000 and is deeply passionate about making new disciples of Jesus Christ and equipping the body of Christ to do the same.

Thomas and his wife, Rev. Melissa Kime-Hall, are lifelong residents of Georgia. Melissa currently serves as Senior Associate Pastor at Oak Grove UMC in Decatur. They are blessed with three children and one granddaughter. Their son Zach, along with his wife Linsey and their daughter Indie Rey, live in Savannah. Their son Knox lives in Athens, and their daughter Kat is graduating from Columbia College in May and will be home before beginning post-graduate work later this year. They also share their home with three beloved pets: two dogs, Bo and Braxton, and their cat, Mr. Peaches.

Both Thomas and Melissa enjoy college football—Thomas cheers for Auburn while Melissa roots for Georgia—making fall Saturdays especially lively in their home.

Thomas first sensed a call to ministry as a youth at Midway UMC in Douglasville, where it was nurtured by several pastors. With guidance from his pastor at Woodbury UMC, he began pursuing that call more intentionally.

He graduated from Georgia Southern University in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Arts. He began seminary and was licensed as a full-time local pastor in 2000. In 2006, he earned a Master of Divinity from Erskine Theological Seminary, was commissioned as an Elder in the North Georgia Conference that same year, and was ordained as an Elder in 2009. Most recently, he has served as pastor of Crossroads UMC in Conyers.

In addition to his pastoral work, Thomas serves as Chair of the South Central District Union and as a member of the District Committee on Ministry (DCOM).

Thomas is United Methodist by conviction. His faith and ministry are shaped by prayer, Scripture, tradition, personal experience, and reflection. He is passionate about calling the Church back to its core mission, fostering unity, and encouraging believers to live as ambassadors of Christ, embodying God’s justice in the world.

Thomas is grateful for the opportunity to join the Kingswood UMC family and looks forward to serving alongside the congregation as we seek to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

Rev. Hall will begin his appointment on Monday, July 6, with his first Sunday in the pulpit on July 12, 2026.
