Today the children heard the story of “We are One” (1 Corinthians 12:12-31). In the story, we talked about gifts. Paul (one of Jesus’s apostles) wrote letters to the people of the early church asking them to think about the church. He talked about the church being like a body, one unit with many parts. All parts are needed, and all are equal for the “body” to work properly. Everyone has a gift, everyone has something they are called to do to serve at church. Would it work if everyone did the same job? Nope. Each person’s special abilities help all other people in the church. Each person should do what they are called by God to do. The body of Christ is all the people who make up a church. Children too! We have children serve at Kingswood as communion helpers, acolytes, readers.
What gift can you share?
What gifts are shared with you in your daily life? (maybe your awesome teachers or Sunday school teachers, your grandparents might bake for you, etc.)
This week, I ask each of you to help your children come up with a list of kind things they can do.
Examples can be : cards for a neighbor, teacher. Baked goods for a neighbor or teacher, sharing with a sibling willingly without being asked
We will pick back up with Operation world next week. This week, I ask each of you to pray for those in the hurricane path, and those in Odessa, TX who are in pain.
Please mark your calendars for:
