When one walks into The Kingswood Preschool these days and gives it a quick onceover, it is clear that there must have been a layover, a sleepover, and a do-over taking place this summer because there certainly has been a makeover there. Yes, it is very obvious a great number of people have been hard at work.
It all started in the early spring as The Kingswood Preschool Board established a subcommittee to research every aspect of the school. They sought wise counsel from a number of places. They listened and discussed. They presented their information back to the school board. In May they brought church member and architect Paul McKeever on board for guidance. He, along with an interior decorator from his firm, brought forth a wonderful design. The first phase of the design was to paint the entire school and add accent tiles to the flooring in the hallway. Over the past five weeks, dedicated craftsmen have been working hard to complete this first phase. It looks great and all the teachers, staff and parents who have seen it are excited.
In addition to the physical makeover in May the preschool began offering parents the option of paying their fees online, and this new option has been well received.
Our Sports and Fitness Ministry is also offering our preschool parents two exciting options beginning in the fall. First there is our new Early Bird program. This allows parents to drop their children off each day beginning at 8:00. The parents may signup on an as need basis or every day. In addition to our great one-hour after school classes, we will also be offering a two-hour Kid’s Zone, which will extend the day to 3:00. Parents may elect the days they would like to participate and also choose one or two hours.
Lastly, later this fall The Kingswood Preschool will be rolling out their own website, which will conclude phase one of our makeover.
I want to extend a big thank you to The Kingswood Preschool Subcommittee, The Preschool Board, The Furnishings Committee, Paul McKeever, Allen Baston and especially our Preschool Director Michelle Wicklund. Michelle has worked tirelessly over the summer making sure it wasn’t over until it was truly over.
What a great makeover. Please stop by and check it out, you certainly will not be disappointed.
In His love and grace,
Rev. Charles Broome
